PROJECT OBJECTIVE

• To provide a digital library with state-of-the-art
facilities and IT enabled services to citizens.

• Protect and conserve invaluable built cultural heritage
treating the building itself as an antiquity; Maximize,
optimize and make compliant upgradation of current
usage within the library functions;

• Conservation and restoration of historic building
• Retrofitting and refurbishment of the building w.r.t
to services and needs Expansion and modernisation
of reading areas, automated / mechanized stacking
facilities, etc.

• Provision of digital knowledge management centre;
Separate sections for senior citizen, women, children
and visually impaired
• Exploration of new revenue streams like bookshops, AFTER
hobby centre, cafeteria and event space
Upgradation of Central Library.
