Elderly in this country have always been treated as a liability. Thus they tend to be- TSUNAMI

further isolated. Interventions of urban farming, open linear corridors to enable the
elderly to feel more homely self reliant. In addition the produce can be capitalized as
local market. The amenities provide a heaven for holistic development. The landscap-
ing is for self healing. While the design interventions guide the elderly and help them
navigate the vicinity. The society as a whole develops the neighboring canal front via
participatory approach Elderly gain their own identity as a community. In conclusion
, they become an asset and drive a self sustaining economy within community rather
than become a “liability”.
