Rising carbon footprints and
consequent climate change is a harsh

reality that needs to be resisted and

rectified by all concerned and at all

levels possible. In a rapidly urbanizing
world and increasing built up space,

energy efficiency of buildings is

believed to play an important role in
combatting this menace. It is well

established that consumption of energy

and consequent carbon footprints of

buildings can be considerably reduced
through adoption of efficient and

sustainable design specifications,

Designing a green building from planning to construction, operation,

maintenance is the need of the hour to combat the climate change
