                                                                Why Senior Citizen Housings
                                                                Are A Failure In Bhopal?
                                                                According to statistics, 7.4% of the total
                                                                population of Bhopal are senior citizens’
                                                                belonging mostly to the lower-income
                                                                group. The senior citizen’s housing in
                                                                present scenario of Bhopal are luxurious.
                                                                Moreover, the services provided in these
                                                                housing are only affordable for 15% of the
                                                                total population of senior citizens, who
                                                                only buy these properties as investment.
                                                                The design aims to provide a low cost se-
                                                                nior citizens’ habitat that generates facil-
                                                                ities and services that are affordable for
                                                                everyone.

                                                                                                         The revenue generated from the commercial spac-

                                                                                                         housing but also to provide low cost services. This
                                                                                                         is achieved by generating revenue from commercial
                                                                                                         zones like, libraries, restaurant,nursery,daycare cen-
                                                                                                         tre,parks and cultural hub.

                                                                Problem ?
                                                                Most of the senior citizens do not opt for
                                                                habitat because they lack monetary fund
                                                                for self maintenance and have adjustment
                                                                problems.
                                                                - Low cost Senior Citizens’ Housing aims
                                                                to target larger number of users rather
                                                                than just the higher income strata. We
                                                                aim to turn the housing in a living society
                                                                rather than just a property investment for
