Energy being one of the most precious components in today’s context, needs to
be conserved to serve the water supply economically resulting in protection of the
environment. As the city population is increasing, the alternative arrangement of water
transmission grid should also be economical in the cases like shut down of water works,
power cutoff, natural calamities etc. Planning and reviewing must be done from time to
time by the Hydraulic Department and Energy Efficiency Cell for timely and successful
implementation of energy efficiency improvement works.
Takeaways from the project are as follows
Water Treatment Plant in Surat • Sites selected must have energy consumption pattern in steady or increasing manner.
• Selection of sites must be done considering energy generation during high wind /
