MASTER PLAN, DESIGNED FOR
SUSTAINABILITY AND COMMUNITY
• The client brief was simple-To design a
Campus on a 17 acres site for processing
of 750 MT/day Municipal Solid Waste
(MSW) while producing 7.5 MW of clean
Energy. The design team enhanced upon
this to include:
• Spreading Awareness in Society on MSW
& Related Problems
• Showcase how Industries can build and
operate in a more responsible way leading
to Net Zero Development
• Inclusive Design Process
• Design with Community in mind
Efficient design resulted in utilization of only
20% of the site area for the plant and related
functions, allowing the maximum amount of LEGEND
land for greens, community activities and 1. Visitor’s Entrance
future expansion. The plant (process flow) is 2. Neem Van
oriented in such a way that incoming city waste 3. Cafeteria
has direct access to the plant, & byproducts 4. Multipurpose Sports Field / Open Lawn area
can be efficiently moved to the adjacent areas 5. Lotus Pond
& bio-gas plant, optimising process flow & 6. Waste to energy-Art Wall
transportation. 7. Bio-gas Plant area
8. Staff entrance
The master plan incorporates an onsite Solar 9. Solar energy Plant
PV with a capacity of 7.5 kW to meet 100% 10. Cold Storage Value chain (Future Expansion)
of the electrical needs and reduces reliance 11. Outdoor composting operations area
on conventional forms of energy. 12. Water Value chain (Future Expansion)
A pipeline, over 1 km long, is installed to 13. Kalp Vruksh Vatika
source majority of process water requirement 14. High tech farming Tower (Future Expansion)
for cooling towers of the advanced Mist 15. Mist cooling pond
Turbine Condenser from treated municipal 16. Pump house
water, relieving pressure on freshwater 17. Admin Building
sources. Additionally, a rainwater harvesting 18. Turbine + Condensor
system captures 100% of runoff volumes 19. Main Plant
through 10 recharge wells, promoting water 20. Pre-Processing Unit
conservation. 21. Temple
