CONCEPT

Elevating the first floor of the house to a height of 10 feet is a strategic and practical response to the threat of flooding.
The concept of “Room for a river” emphases the importance of allowing water to flow naturally through the space beneath the
elevated structure during floods. By incorporating this concept, demonstrates a holistic understanding of flood management
that prioritizes both human safety and ecological sustainability. Rather than resisting the forces of nature, this approach creates
a harmonious balance between built infrastructure and natural landscapes.

“Leaving the room unbuilt is room to

                                                              an ecosystem”
