HUDCO has been funding transport sector projects in India in a major way to State Governments & public Sector agencies. The types of projects which are funded are as follows:
- Roads, Bridges, Flyovers, Subways, Bypasses etc.
- Transport Nagars / Terminals
- Parking Complexes
- Ports, Jetties etc
- Airports
- Railway infrastructure, Metro Rails
- Purchase of public transport vehicles etc.
Under the Roads & Bridges umbrella, HUDCO has been participating in a big way through funding projects like Land Acquisition, Construction, Upgradation & Improvement of Expressways, Highways and city roads. The major borrower under this sub-category are SPVs, various State Road Development Authorities, Expressway Authorities, Municipal Corporations, Industrial Development Corporations etc. HUDCO has funded components of projects in Uttar Pradesh like Purvanchal Expressways, Bundelkhand Expressway and Ganga expressway. Further, HUDCO is also the part of Consortium for funding “Hindu Hruday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg” which is 701.15 km expressway connecting Nagpur and Mumbai.
Over the last decade, many Metro-Rail projects have come up as a solution for growing public transportation needs of urban cities of India. HUDCO has participated in this and have funded Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation and Kochi Metro Rail Ltd. With more cities coming up with metro projects, HUDCO may be seen in near future as a major player in funding these metro project.
Apart from these, HUDCO has also provided financial assistance for augmentation of fleet of Buses to various state transport corporations to cater of Inter-state, inter-city and intra-city low cost transportation needs of India. At the same time, HUDCO has been participating for the development Airport and Ports.
