CONCEPT
Old age is often compared to a second childhood, in terms of one needing to be taken care of as they age. But what about the other aspects of childhood that
old age is similar to? People forget to talk about the wonderful things that make up retirement.
Our concept is to create an environment to act as a catalyst to reflect the best parts of retirement, to present opportunities for the residents to better them-
selves, for them to explore new avenues, to form new friendships, to create new purpose, and for them to explore themselves from within.
Our design approach is to create an environment that will result in the best possible outcome of living, by taking the above aspects into consideration.
Through this, we will break the existing negative ideas surrounding retirement homes, and create an aura of positivity around the concept.
In the end, what is retirement if not an amazing journey that everyone should embark at one point in their lives; and what are retirement homes but a path
through which these dreams can be achieved?
