An optimized facade design proved pivotal in filtering glare-free daylight inside the building
Smart Façade Design
In designing the Infosys campus in Nagpur to meet sustainability
goals, it was equally important to establish a distinctive identity
for the campus. The façade design serves this dual purpose.
Inspired by the seven swaras (Indian classical music notes) and
tiger’s skin grooves, the design of the external shading devices
not only enhances the building’s aesthetic but also functions as
effective external shading devices, reducing heat gain.
They respond to the sun’s path and dynamically adjust their
configuration based on the program, enabling optimized
workspaces, breakout areas, and meeting spaces.
