AIM & SCOPE OF THE PROJECT
INI team, along with structural consultants like
Genstru Consultants and CBM Engineers, Project
Implementation Unit (PIU), and State Public
Works Department (PWD), undertook exhaustive
studies of local geographical, climatic, economic,
socio-cultural, & infrastructural factors, soliciting
insights from diverse stakeholders and invested
institutions like CBRI, Roorkee, IIT (BHU),
VNIT, Nagpur, among others. Examination
of geo-environmental and developmental
aspects including topography, soil integrity,
hydrology, slope orientation, vegetation cover,
accessibility, flood risk, and visual prominence,
along with avalanche studies by the Defence
Geoinformatics Research Establishment (DGRE),
facilitated a nuanced understanding of the
existing landscape, informing the development of
precise mapping through advanced technologies
such as point cloud drone surveys, GIS, Civil
3D, and Revit.
A comprehensive array of maps delineating
area characteristics, hazard potentials, access
strategies, disaster preparedness, and resilience
plans were developed. The collaborative efforts
of stakeholders, authorities, & government
bodies were an embodiment of collective
consciousness, a realization that Kedarpuri’s
revival was a shared responsibility.
Phase 1, comprising of five projects worth INR
225 crores, was inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime
Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 5th November
2021. Phase 2 and 3 are ongoing, and are
