Masterplan and Section
Comprehensive Masterplan Preserving the Spiritual, Aesthetic and Ecological Sanctity
Delineating the area around the main shrine as “forever open, clear and free – No Build Zone” the Masterplan included removal
of various buildings and structures that had come up due to lack of planning & encroachment, becoming major safety hazards
post flooding. Providing a clear line of access and vision from the point of embarkment up to the temple, creates an experiential
journey that resonates with spiritual core of the place while also emanating the calm of the majestic Himalayas. Multi-tiered
protection/retaining walls on all edges of the town are integrated as part of disaster management & resilience measures
to ensure protection in a 100-year flood scenario. The building structures have been oriented in harmony with the natural
topography, & aligned to the slope, ensuring minimal cut and fill. Efficient wastewater and solid waste & sewerage management
infrastructure ensure zero discharge into the natural systems and maintains the environmental sanctity, transporting all the
waste to Sewage Treatment Plant and a Solid Waste Processing Center outside the complex.
