INCOME ABUSE / CRIME

Although around 50% of the elderly
population have some source of
personal income, it is not sufficient to REASONS FOR ABUSE
meet their medical and other needs.
This makes them, especially women,
more dependent on others.

WORK CONTRIBUTION

About half of the elderly population in the country face some form of abuse/crime, more in
case of women than men. Building spaces providing security along with comfort is a major
concern.

Older people work either by their choice or to support their
families financially which shows greater vulnerability of the older
section and an increasing need for a properly designed system for
supporting this section of the society.
