‘Abstract And Hard’ Care Home:
Location: Valladolid, Spain
The approaches were held by insistent ideas: providing older people
a space connected to the natural surroundings around. The sheltered
environment enhances close relation among inhabitants of the building
forming an internal community. The perimeter corridor becomes a place
rich in nuances. Where people can speak in front of the door of their
room houses.
INFERENCE
1. A good connection of multiple courtyards and the rooms, through window.
2. Natural daylighting is obtained through clerestory window.
3. Light ventilated corridor due to many spill-over spaces opening to courtyard.

Location: San Francisco, California
A dedicated staff provides a wide range of on-site social
services and case management. Each residential floor
features informal lounges and a laundry room, and shared
decks at the second and fourth levels overlooking the sunny
courtyard.
