OUTCOMES AND IMPACT OF THE PROJECT:

• Providing 24x7 water connections to one lakh households in the ABD area has made a positive impact on people’s lives.
• The intervention has reduced non-revenue water (NRW) by 13% and minimized losses of water due to the inefficiency of
the water supply network.

• The development of an 82-kilometer-long sewerage network covering 96% of the walled city area and providing sewerage
house service connections to 25,000 households has significantly improved sanitation and hygiene. This has mitigated
environmental concerns related to untreated sewage.
• The storm water drainage system has reduced soil erosion, prevented waterlogging during heavy rains, and enhanced the
overall resilience of the walled city against water-related challenges.
• The relaying of roads and widening them has significantly reduced traffic congestion, improved the flow of vehicular
movement, and ensured a safer road environment.
• Shifting overhead cables to underground ducts has improved the aesthetic appeal of the old city while minimizing the risks
of electrical faults, fires, road incidents, etc.
• The real-time monitoring and control of the sewerage, water supply, and electrical network using the SCADA system has
ensured efficient operations, prompt fault detection, and optimized resource management.

• Contributed to environmental sustainability by addressing issues such as pollution from untreated sewage and promoting
eco-friendly storm water management practices.

• The enhanced infrastructure has positively impacted the economic activities and social well-being of the residents. The
project has created new job prospects for the inhabitants of the ABD area.
